It’s become conventional wisdom that it’s essential to stand for yourself. But there are ways of doing so that are hardly advisable. Ways that will prevent you from confronting the person most needing to be confronted- yourself.
It was assumed that the Golden Globes 2018 would be tense given the months and months of sexual allegations in Hollywood. Yet, when you have THE Oprah Winfrey accept the Cecil B. DeMille Award, as the first African American woman, the award show steered more toward the tame.
Oprah gave a moving, inspiring and emotional acceptance speech- that some say was her presidential address. “I want all the girls watching here and now to know that a new day is on the horizon,” said the actress, producer and media mogul. “And when that new day finally dawns, it will be because of a lot of magnificent women .. and some pretty phenomenal men fighting hard to make sure that they become the leaders that take us to the time when nobody has to say ‘me too’ again.”
